Dr. Sunil Gandhi, Co-Founder of Translucence Biosystems, recently presented his work with CTO Dr. Ricardo Azevedo at the 20th Annual Advanced Imaging Methods Workshop hosted by the CRL Molecular Imaging Center at the University of California, Berkeley.
In his presentation, Dr. Gandhi introduced a new statistical toolkit for analyzing cellular resolution fluorescence images in atlas-aligned, light-sheet imaged mouse brains. The toolkit, which uses a Bayesian model, accounts for common sources of error and increases detection power over standard parametric statistics corrected for multiple comparisons. Dr. Gandhi demonstrated the toolkit's ability to analyze recent neuronal activity in mouse brains using markers of immediate early gene expression.
This work provides a useful tool for extracting actionable data from brain-wide images and advances the field of cellular imaging.
